There’s a way for anyone in this world to enjoy the therapeutic potential of cannabis in some way or another. Want to get high and ease a racing mind? Traditional delta 9 THC is for you. Don’t want to get high at all? There’s CBD, the non-psychoactive cannabinoid.

Then, there’s delta 8 THC – which sits somewhere in the middle, known as a milder form of delta 9. In fact, we’ve often seen it called “diet” weed. It produces a high, but a much gentler one. That could be a good thing, or it could be something you view as a limitation.

That said, we’re here to unveil all the best delta 8 alternatives to help you choose the form of cannabis that best suits your goals and preferences. After all, Flowerz is your one-stop shop for legal, hemp-derived cannabis products online – with something for everyone!

From our THC mints to THC edibles, CBD gummies and tinctures to CBG gummies for pain – the best alternative to delta 8 is right here in our catalog waiting to be discovered. Shop today and enjoy cannabis on your own terms!

What is Delta 8?

Delta 8 THC isn’t the first cannabinoid that comes to mind when people think of cannabis. But, it’s become a whole lot more popular over the past 10 years or so as people have realized its unique capabilities.

The milder cousin to traditional delta 9 THC is often described as gentle, soothing, or less overwhelming, which is just what some people want after feeling like they got “too high” from other forms of THC.

While it’s available in tiny concentrations in cannabis, most products with delta 8 are synthesized from CBD through a chemical conversion process. In other words, delta 8 products are lab-made.

Delta 8 was swept into the 2018 Farm Bill’s legal gray zone because it’s hemp-derived and falls under the 0.3% Delta 9 threshold. That’s made it accessible in places where cannabis was otherwise restricted.

However, there have been growing concerns about its quality and safety since the vast majority of delta 8 on the market is made in a lab. This is just one of the many reasons you may be interested in delta 8 alternatives.

Pros and Cons of Delta 8

Be clear, delta 8 has its appeal – it’s a whole lot chiller than delta 9 THC, and it may be all you have access to (legally) in your specific city. But you need to be aware of both the pros AND the cons before trying delta 8.

Why Are People Drawn Towards Delta 8?

Delta 8 took off because it offered something few others did: a legal way to get high in non-legal states. It’s easy to find in gas stations, smoke shops, and of course, online.

You could get it without even being ID’d in some cases! But as we’ll explore in a moment, the lack of regulation is also a downside, and why delta 8 alternatives tend to be a safer bet.

But, delta 8 is a far more accessible entry point to cannabis for new users or those who are sensitive to THC. When you just want to take the edge off without the intense buzz of traditional THC, delta 8 delivers. Or, does it?

Why People Are Looking Towards Delta 8 Alternatives

There’s a reason so many of our customers come to us initially looking for an alternative to delta 8. It’s not always what it claims to be. Because delta 8 is synthetically converted from CBD, the quality of the end product depends entirely on who’s making it.

Many producers don’t follow clean, transparent processes. They cut corners because cost is their top priority, not quality. Common concerns include residual solvents, unknown byproducts, and weak or inconsistent highs.

This is why more and more states have moved to ban or at least restrict delta 8 THC products, even though they technically meet the threshold for the 2018 Farm Bill.

All that being said, more seasoned users will find that delta 8 just doesn’t go far enough for what they’re in search of effects-wise. Whether you want better potency, fewer unknowns, or products backed by testing and real ingredient standards, there are smarter, safer alternatives to delta 8.

That’s where Flowerz comes in.

The Best Delta 8 Alternatives

So, what are the best delta 8 alternatives you have at your disposal? Many of them are available right here at Flowerz, so you can try them side-by-side and find the perfect form of cannabis for your exact preferences.

Everything we sell is hemp-derived and Farm Bill compliant, too, so no need to stress about the legal side of things. We’ll start with the most obvious alternative to delta 8: delta 9 THC.

Delta 9 THC (Full-Spectrum Gummies)

When we talk about delta 9 THC, it’s real weed we’re talking about. This is the cannabinoid everyone associates with the “high” from cannabis. It’s abundant in marijuana, but hemp plants contain delta 9 as well – albeit in trace amounts.

That said, the 2018 Farm Bill left open a legal loophole so now anyone can get delta 9 THC gummies shipped to their door, 100% legally. You get the authentic cannabis experience you crave shipped right to your door.

From THC gummies for stress to THC gummies for focus, THC gummies for sleep, and even low-dose THC gummies – there’s something waiting for you here at Flowerz.

The key advantage here is transparency. You don’t need to worry about how the products were made. Here at Flowerz our gummies are third-party tested, cleanly extracted, and designed with intent so you can rest assured you’re getting the quality you deserve.

If you liked the mellow mood shift of delta 8 but found yourself longing for something a bit stronger or more consistent, this is an excellent alternative to delta 8 THC.

THCa Flower and Pre-Rolls

THCa flower has quickly become one of the most trusted alternatives to Delta 8, and for good reason. When you buy THCa flower online here at Flowerz you may as well be purchasing real weed. How is this possible?

THCa is actually the most abundant cannabinoid in hemp and marijuana. The problem is, it has zero psychoactive properties on its own. It can’t do anything until you put it through a process called decarboxylation – that’s a fancy way of saying heating it up.

This means when you spark up a THCa pre roll or put raw THCa flower in your vaporizer, you’re warming it to a temperature that converts THCa into delta 9 THC – the real deal. You’re enjoying pure, high-potency cannabis with a full terpene profile.

The best part of this alternative to delta 8 is you’re getting the most true-to-strain experience possible. Nothing has been isolated out or stripped away. It’s what the original cultivar was meant to be.

You can taste the citrus, earth, or pine. You can feel the difference between an indica and a sativa. And since it’s federally legal in raw form under the Farm Bill, you get access to classic cannabis effects without crossing state legality lines.

We carry rotating THCA flower strains and pre-rolls made from whole bud – no trim, no filler. Our blog has more resources on delta 8 flower vs THCa flower and CBD flower vs THCa flower if you want to learn more about how this alternative to delta 8 compares to the field.

But whether you’re craving a mellow body melt or something creative and euphoric, we feel strongly this is the alternative Delta 8 users have been waiting for: cleaner, stronger, and closer to what cannabis is actually supposed to feel like.

CBD + CBG for Non-Intoxicating Relief

Delta 8 can get you high to some extent – but maybe you don’t want to get high AT ALL. You’re simply looking to tap into the therapeutic benefits cannabis has to offer. Look no further than these delta 8 alternatives, CBD and CBG.

CBD offers broad anti-inflammatory and mood-supporting effects, while CBG helps with muscle recovery, focus, and tension relief. Together, they provide a functional, non-intoxicating option that supports the same types of pain, anxiety, and stress Delta 8 was often used for.

Our pain gummies are a perfect way to find fast relief without getting high. You can take them during the workday, drive, and stay sharp while feeling better.

Delta-10 THC

Delta-10 is often marketed as an “uplifting” alternative to Delta 8, supposedly better for focus and energy. It’s an alternative to delta 8, that’s for sure – but perhaps not the “best” one.

It’s still made through chemical conversion from CBD, just like delta 8. The final result is typically less potent than traditional THC. Some users report a lighter, more cerebral high that feels similar to a mild sativa.

In this sense, it’s pretty close to delta 8 THC – so is it really a great alternative? It suffers from many of the same issues that brought you here searching for delta 8 alternatives in the first place: poor regulation, inconsistent effects, and questionable lab practices.

There’s pretty limited research on its safety or long-term impact, and most of it comes from small-scale labs producing for speed rather than quality. This is why we put it lower on our list of alternatives to delta 8.

Delta-11 THC

Delta-11 is newer to the scene and marketed as a “next-gen cannabinoid.” People are so excited about it because it’s actually more potent than delta 9. That said, most of what you’ll read about this mysterious cannabinoid comes from hype, not science.

We’ve seen people say it’s euphoric, intense, and fast-acting. Some brands are pushing it as the latest legal high. But like delta 8 and delta, there are question marks. Delta-11 is not naturally extracted, it’s chemically altered and largely unregulated just like the others.

This means it’s a bit of a guessing game about what you’re actually consuming. Products vary wildly in potency, origin, and safety standards. While some users enjoy its effects, there’s almost no long-term data or reliable third-party verification available.

You’re better off sticking with something like THCa, delta 9, or even CBD if your goal is safe, consistent relief or recreation. These cannabinoids have more data, regulation, and proven benefits behind them.

HHC (Hexahydrocannabinol)

Finally, there’s one more alternative to delta 8 we want to highlight: HHC. This is another synthetic cannabinoid gaining more attention on the market because of its unique psychoactive properties. It sits somewhere between Delta 8 and Delta 9 in intensity.

That said, it’s still lab-made, usually synthesized from CBD. This hydrogenated version of THC does have another interesting benefit, though – at least, from the brand/retailer perspective. It’s considered more stable than Delta 8 or Delta 9, so it may last longer on shelves and resist heat degradation.

The problem, like some of the other popular delta 8 alternatives, comes down to consistency and regulation. One HHC cart might be mellow and pleasant; the next could feel heavy and disorienting.

It’s not something we feel confident recommending as an alternative to delta 8 – when you want something clean and transparent, stick with the alternatives available at Flowerz.

How is Rosin made?

Rosin can be made from either cannabis flower or hash, which is the collected kief (trichomes) of the Cannabis plant. If you have a grinder with a kief catch, you are probably already familiar! Rosin made from cannabis nugs tends to be slightly more difficult to enjoy, as plant matter almost always impacts the rosin. This does not impede the rosin’s potency but can cause an unpleasant flavor or smell for the user.

Once the cannabis source material is chosen, heat and pressure are applied. Most rosin for sale in dispensaries is created in a custom industrial press, though some users choose to make their own rosin at home with a hair straightener.

The applied heat and pressure to the cannabis material force out the cannabinoids and terpenes, similar to how canola or olives are pressed for oil. The end result is a cannabis concentrate with THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids as well as terpenes. The temperature and pressure applied correlate to the type of rosin produced. Rosin can be made into shatter, budder, taffy, and wax consistencies.
